Common questions about thyroid blood tests that I receive include:

  • Should I take my thyroid medication as normal before the blood draw?

  • Do you need to fast for a thyroid blood test?

  • Does the test need to be in the morning?

  • Can I have a thyroid blood test while on my period?

This newsletter will look at all of these and the answers will likely surprise you. You see, many people with thyroid conditions are making mistakes with how they’re testing their thyroid levels which can actually lead to them being on too low a dose of thyroid medication.

This is why, when some people decide to stop taking it, they feel fine for the first week or so.

When it comes to thyroid blood tests, should you take Levothyroxine and Synthroid before or after?

The answer may surprise you. In order to get the most accurate reading of your thyroid levels and know if your dose is correct…
